Work Ethic

Seth is such a farm kid!  When we first moved here almost a year ago, Seth hardly dared to leave the house.  He was deathly afraid of the lawnmower, of the tractor, of the pool, of the dog...etc.  Now that boy is TOTALLY different.  Seth is a kid who seriously does not stop working.  He's always with his dad in the barn.  If dad is taking his time to check something or changing his footwear, Seth will grab a broom and start sweeping the floor.  He'll mop water off the floor too.  He just finds work to do.  If dad is on the tractor, you'll see Seth with him.  If dad is walking barns, Seth is walking his own rows too--picking deads.  When that boy comes in the house he will voluntarily take the wash out of the washing machine and out it in the dryer--and turn it on too!  He checks to see if I'm folding laundry and takes his clothes and puts them away.  He will randomly grab the carpet sweeper and 'sweep' the living room. He also asks me if he can vacuum.  If I deny him, he will burst into tears.  Later he will meander outside again and start cleaning the equipment with a sprayer attached to a garden hose.  he's a real little farmer.  In fact, he has no problem telling the feed salesman that we need a good feed conversion this time!  Oh Seth....what a guy!

And how do you reward him?  Dan took him out for breakfast at Tim Hortons.  The little guy came home absolutely beaming!
